Policies & What to Expect
Appointments
To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. We strive to give our patients an easy going, stress free experience. For the cat, this requires slow but intentional movements from our care team that are meant to bring about a sense of calm instead of fear. This requires an added amount of time during the appointment. This added time is especially needed for an already fearful cat that would prefer to be home lounging on their favorite couch instead of being at the vet’s office. We understand cats and want them to be comfortable. Also, emergency cases shall always receive top priority, thus, an occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
For your convenience, "drop-off" appointments are available. A “drop-off" means you could bring your pet on a day that works best for you (based on hospital availability) and leave him/her with us during the day. Usually, we will ask you to “drop-off" sometime in the morning so our doctors can examine the patient in between appointments or at other times that we purposely reserved for admitted patients. Once the doctor is done, either the doctor or technician will call to go over the exam findings and to give you treatment options or discuss discharge instructions. For the safety of all animals in our care, we require that all vaccinations be up to date.
During a scheduled appointment to keep your kitty at ease, we usually perform the examination, obtain most diagnostic samples and complete minor treatments in the exam room with the pet parent. Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings, and other pets and may demonstrate behaviors that are outside of their normal. This is one of the reasons we ask you to not restrain your pet or handle them during the same time as we are caring for your cat.
Patient Arrival
Cats can become frightened easily and may try to run to safety quickly. For the protection and safety of your pet, all cats must be presented in an appropriate cat carrier or on a leash attached to a pet harness.
Payments
We require full payment at the time that services are rendered. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Apple Pay, Care Credit, cash, and personal checks. We also accept most pet insurance. Cost estimates are available in advance for hospitalized, surgical, boarding, and drop-off patients. Please feel free to discuss fees before procedures are performed.
Medication & Food Refills
Please contact us as soon as possible before needing a refill of your cat’s prescription food or medication. It is always best to call ahead. Medication and food requests may take up to 48-72 hours to fill. Due to processing procedures, refill requests from online channels such as Chewy may take up to 5-7 days to be approved.
Please note that some special order items may take up to 2-3 weeks to become available. All special order medications and diets require payment prior to the order being placed.
